Women Against Rape (WAR) presents a 30-minute video aimed at informing and equipping health professionals to meet the needs of rape survivors: Health services for rape survivors: Highlights of a frank, lively dialogue among rape survivors, advocates from Black Women’s Rape Action Project and WAR, and health workers. Women of different races, backgrounds and disabilities recount compelling experiences of seeking health treatment for physical injuries and/or emotional trauma. They describe what they were looking for and the obstacles and prejudices they encountered. Nurses from a number of sexual health clinics respond with their experiences of treating rape survivors, and of tackling discrimination.
